Growth (2005-2007) – 134.3%
Description
Preseli Construction (www.preseli-construction.co.uk) is involved in maintenance contracts for housing associations, disabled adaptions for public and private sector firms, new build for private clients. It also undertakes extensions, conversions and renovations, and has its own design and build service. Clients range from property developers to private individuals.
Origins
The business has developed because the founder was not happy being a one man band and decided to start a limited company and try to build it into a medium size business. The main challenges were finding contracts to start, employing the right staff and keeping the work flowing to ensure continuous employment for the staff.
Success factors
The business has received backing from Ian Tovey of Royal Bank of Scotland and continued support from Mr Alwyn James of the HSBC branch in Pembroke. In addition, employing the right management staff and tradespeople, and a commitment to high quality works and maintaining good customer relations has certainly helped the growth of the firm.
The future
Preseli Construction aims to secure its position as one of the leading construction companies in the locality. It will do this by making sure all its staff are kept up-to-date with all the new technologies, and improving its corporate image.
